In mid-2023, as part of the implementation of Law Number 40 of 2014 concerning Insurance and the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 11 of 2023 concerning the Spin-Off of Sharia Business Units of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, MAL was appointed by PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia (BRINS) to act as Legal Counsel, entrusted with providing assistance and legal oversight throughout the spin-off process of BRINS’s Sharia Business Unit. The spin-off is to be carried out through an indirect separation mechanism by establishing a newly formed entity resulting from the spin-off.
Throughout this process, MAL, represented by its legal consulting team, namely Mr. R. Renno Mahardhika, S.H., M.H., as the Project Lead, and Mr. Ryan Muhammad, S.H., M.H., M.Si (Han), as the Person in Charge (PIC), remains committed to delivering legal services with the utmost dedication, accuracy, and integrity to ensure the successful execution of the spin-off in accordance with the Client’s expectations, while upholding the principles of legal compliance and professional diligence.
The entire spin-off process is expected to be completed by the end of December 2026.
